Project Description

The data centres comprise of 2 units of 9.6MW COLO’s and associated electrical support rooms, including electrical rooms, battery rooms, prefabricated MV rooms, and an expansion of the existing 160MVA 110kV substation.

Ethos Input

As the mechanical and electrical deliverables provider, Ethos Engineering utilised BIM and Revit MEP to design the MEP services. The M&E services were developed to LOD 300 and transferred to the main contractor to complete throughout the project. Ethos Engineering provided full MEP design services and construction administration support.

Unique / Key Features

The cooling system utilises air side economisers (outside air) to cool the server and electrical spaces, achieving an all-air cooling system. Some areas (Battery Rooms) have additional DX Cooling provided. As this site was initially limited by available power in the region, the design team needed to design for ‘temporary’ infrastructure that would need to be replaced and upgraded as power became available from the utility.
