Ethos November Charity Challenge for the Special Olympics Ireland

A lot of people have been hit hard with Covid-19 and Special Olympics Ireland have been hit particularly hard. Their normal way of fundraising via events has been put on hold. A little bit of support would go a long way to help get their 8000 athletes back on track who train for much more than physical benefits but also for social and emotional development.

Ethos challenged all our staff to do a minimum of 50km run or walk to support this worthy charity throughout the month of November. We have a goal of raising €10,000 to donate to the Special Olympics.

Many of the Special Olympics athletes have overcome what they were told they cannot do, the one thing they can’t do now is stop.

Ethos staff have covered over 10,400km, that’s 3 full marathons for everyone taking part in the 30 days of November 2020, 125km on average for each person, the equivalent of Dublin to Tokyo or Dublin to Cape Town or Dublin to Buenos Aires. We far exceeded our original target with the fantastic support of our 194 donors and raised an astonishing €14,400.

It was great to get out into the fresh air, do some exercise all while raising money for this wonderful charity.. we would like to thank everybody for their generous donations and our employees for making it happen!
