Project Description

The new Connolly Satellite Centre is located on the grounds of the James Connolly Memorial Hospital in Blanchardstown. The Satellite Centre is part of the new National Children’s Hospital (NCH) development encompassing the new hospital at St. James’ Hospital, and another Satellite Centre located at the Adelaide and Meath Hospital campus in Tallaght. The Connolly Satellite Centre is a three-story building measuring approximately 4,800m².

Ethos Input

The Satellite Centre is a fully serviced hospital designed and built to the latest standards and good practices. The mechanical and electrical services include all ventilation, heating, cooling, water services, drainage, medical gas, pneumatic tube, power, lighting, nurse call, security, fire protection, and telecommunications. This is a BIM project, and as such, all the services were designed and coordinated in REVIT.

Unique / Key Features

This is an A3 energy-rated building and makes use of all the latest technologies for efficient design, heat recovery, and energy reduction. The project delivered elements including high-efficiency reversible heat pumps, multi-service chilled beams, and LED lighting throughout
