Project Objective

Aided by a robust technical foundation and evaluation strategy designed by Ethos’ Digital Design and Advisory group, LinkedIn leveraged fault detection and diagnostics (FDD) and a computerised maintenance management system (CMMS) in a smart building environment at One Wilton Park. This enabled the effective implementation of continuous and connected commissioning of their EU headquarters office fit-out, realising the full potential of the workplace while maximising the value of the assets.

Project Description

One Wilton Park in Dublin was developed as a smart building campus comprising eight storeys and two basement levels. It formed a key element of LinkedIn’s EU workplace expansion. The building included additional desk spaces, a restaurant with a full kitchen, a terrace garden, and parking facilities.

Ethos Input

Acting in a client advisory role as technical project manager, Ethos was responsible for delivering the smart building project in line with LinkedIn's KPIs.

The project scope focused on:
• Monitoring base build design to verify its suitability for a smart building fit-out, alongside evaluating fit-out MEP systems and building readiness.
• Coordinating building ontology requirements for the design and installation of a robust underlying technology foundation.
• Conducting client workshops centred on critical employee user experiences and outcomes—targeting flexible spaces, employee wellness, continuous commissioning, and smart facility management.
• Assessing building operations and facility management tools (including FDD and CMMS systems) to maximise long-term building efficiency.

A key deliverable from Ethos was a unique feature of the project: a Fault Detection and Diagnostic (FDD) tool, underpinned by an analytical, rules-based engine. This is integrated with middleware to raise alerts for errors or malfunctions in critical building systems, supporting LinkedIn in maximising asset value during the building’s operational lifecycle.

Ethos also supported LinkedIn in the procurement and implementation of a CMMS tool, enabling digital and agile execution of all facility management workflows, whether initiated through the FDD tool or by the FM teams.
