Intercom’s ambition is to attract and retain premium talent by providing an amazing place to work, with the building adapting to the users’ needs and desires, providing a sublime user experience in real-time in a highly automated smart building ecosphere.
The Cadenza is Intercom’s flagship commercial office, occupying a 10’500m2 seven-story development standing over two basement levels, situated at a prime location in Dublin’s city centre.
Ethos’s digital design and advisory group were commissioned to develop the Intelligent Building solutions that would deliver a sublime experience to the building’s end-users, FM, workplace, and management teams.
Using our Place-activation UX design approach, inputs were collated from the landlord and base-build teams, MEP designers, architects, and client teams (users, operations, FM, and IT) to develop the technology foundation that would fully realise our client’s all-inclusive ambitions.
Consisting of an underlying ICT infrastructure, an IoT sensor layer, on-prem middleware, an off-premises data layer, and an analytics engine, the technology foundation serves to drive out the building integrations established through our collaborative UX design outcomes, with control and connectivity blended into a single interface in the form of a workplace mobile app supporting the enhanced user and operational experiences.
Our technical project management service included a base-build gap analysis, technology assessments, and management of all stages of the construction process, through to post-completion building tuning.
