About the Role – ICT & ELV Design Engineer

We are seeking an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and extra low-voltage (ELV) systems Design Engineer to join our Digital Services team in our Dublin office. As Ethos Engineering enters this very exciting and emerging design service within the built environment, we are looking for the right candidate who has been involved in a diverse and challenging range of projects across multiple industries. As an integral member of our Digital Services team, you will be responsible for leading and managing projects while also helping to grow the business.

Requirements

  • The candidate must be based in Ireland to be considered for this position

  • Degree in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Engineering or related discipline engineering/technology qualification.

  • Demonstrable CPD record in engineering/technology subjects;

  • Desirable qualification is Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCCD) Certification (knowledge in the design, implementation, integration and project management of telecommunications

  • Bluebeam documents (handling Revit files etc.);

  • Technical information presentation skills;

  • Ability to use IT based calculation and spreadsheet software;

  • Good working knowledge of MS Office applications Word, Excel and Microsoft Projects;

  • Technical awareness of: VoIP Solutions, IP Network convergence, Security Systems, BMS systems, HVAC, UPS, Generators

  • Good understanding of EN/ISO/BS standards regulations/codes and relevant IT systems certification standards;

  • Experience in CAD document handling and drawing production, e.g. cabling infrastructure overlay onto AutoCAD;

  • Ability to work to deadlines and prioritise your own workload.

  • Previous project experience in ICT and ELV infrastructure design work in the built environment for example; data centres, commercial buildings, hotels, university campuses, office ICT fit-out and relocation projects


    Role Duties

  • Experience in design, specification, and implementation of ICT and ELV systems.

  • Proven capabilities in ICT and ELV infrastructure, multi-media communication facilities and systems such as structured cabling systems, networks, security systems, DAS, WiFi, AV, etc.

  • Experience in cost-benefit analysis of ICT or ELV systems, appraisal of system investments, market studies and regulatory and licensing issues will be an advantage

  • Experience in conducting data acquisition and needs analysis.

  • Experience in coordinating ICT design at technical meetings with technical counterparts in other engineering disciplines.

  • Ensure specifications, drawings and calculations meet industry, legal and quality standards.

  • Facilitate peer and QA review of all documents and drawings.
