Electrical Design Engineer

Full Time / Permanent / Hybrid

About the job:
As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will lead Data Centre projects in EMEA. It will be second nature to you, to manage project delivery from conception all the way through to completion / client handover. Confidently managing and growing relations with accounts. Your expertise will expand beyond just the electrical field, also including Mechanical, BMS/EPMS, Security and CSA. Excelling at project design planning to meet client expectations. You will also manage a team of support engineers, mentoring them in their professional development. With that will come the responsibility of ensuring all deliverables from the team align with our quality assurance systems prior to handover.

About you:

  • Honours Degree – Chartered an advantage but not essential

  • 4+ years’ experience with data centre, industrial or high-tech engineering projects

  • Understand in detail CIBSE, BS, IS, and EN standards

  • Working knowledge of Bluebeam, AutoCad and REVIT

  • Knowledge of other engineering analysis software is an advantage

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and organisational skills

  • Capable of taking the lead on projects with minimal input from management team

  • Experience leading and coordinating an engineering team, successfully delivering a project

  • Communicative, with an ability to liaise with clients, architects, and project managers

  • Drive for continuous innovation and adoption of emerging technologies

Your day-to-day activities:

  • Lead electrical services design on projects from concept stage to completion

  • Specification and design of electrical building services systems

  • Continuous design & installation quality checks and control

  • Provide fully detailed tender packages / tender reports / analysis / recommendations

  • Develop project scope with design team / client

  • Uphold the electrical design standards within the organisation

  • Mentoring of engineering staff
