Job Description: BIM Technician / Full-Time Permanent

About the Role – BIM Technician
The successful applicant will work as part of our BIM team. The applicant’s duties will include using BIM programs such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks amongst others, to produce BIM Models & project drawings from Concept Design through to the Contract Issue stage by working in conjunction with & under the direction of our engineers. The models & drawings shall cover all disciplines from Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health systems.

Candidate Attributes

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and organisational skills.

  • Drive for continuous innovation and adoption of emerging technologies.

  • Experience in Revit MEP model setup and Family creation, Navisworks and BIM360 platform.

  • Experience in working on multiple projects and challenging timelines.

  • Experience in reviewing BEP/EIR documents to determine model requirements.

  • Experience in model coordination, clash detection and resolution using Navisworks.

  • Experience with using Dynamo scripts and 3 rd party add-ins.

  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

    Key Activities

  • Manage and monitor the execution of BIM processes on projects, including regular coordination, model checks and data sharing with the design team.

  • Assist the BIM Lead in testing and execution of new and innovative processes and provide qualitative feedback.

  • Discuss and resolve design issues raised by the Junior or Project BIM designers with the BIM Lead & engineers.

  • Coordinate with engineers for project requirements and prerequisites.

  • Assist the Junior and Project BIM designers in their technical development based on the plans created by the BIM Lead.

  • Attend BIM coordination and project team meetings to provide project status updates and discuss potential issues.

  • Work with minimal supervision from the BIM Lead.

  • Maintain awareness of new technologies and trends within the BIM/VDC domain.
