Gateway at Beacon Court

Gateway at Beacon Court is an 80,000 square metres mixed use development located in Sandyford in Dublin 18. The development consists of approx. a 50 / 50 split between commercial and residential units.
There was a strong emphasis on sustainability on this project. The project strove not only to better the current part L but also the local authority energy policy ET7. ET7 requires a reduction in CO2 emissions by 40% below prevailing norms and use of 20% renewable energy sources within the development.
This was achieved using some of the following sustainable technologies;
- High levels of building air tightness
- U Values 20% better than Building Regulations
- Central energy centre / district heating approach c/w CHP & Biomass
- Maximum use of natural ventilation
- Employment of low energy / high efficiency Vent & AC systems only where necessary.
