Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
About the job:
As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will lead Data Centre projects in EMEA. It will be second nature to you, to manage project delivery from conception all the way through to completion / client handover. Confidently managing and growing relations with accounts. Your expertise will expand beyond just the mechanical field, also including Electrical, BMS/EPMS, Security and CSA. Excelling at project design planning to meet client expectations. You will also manage a team of support engineers, mentoring them in their professional development. With that will come the responsibility of ensuring all deliverables from the team align with our quality assurance systems prior to handover.
About you:
Honours Degree – Chartered an advantage but not essential
7+ years experience with data centre, industrial or high-tech projects
Deep understanding of CIBSE, ASHRAE, BS, IS and EN Standards
Working knowledge of Bluebeam, AutoCad and REVIT
Any other engineering analysis software is an advantage
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent communication, presentation, and organisational skills
Capable of taking the lead on projects with minimal input from management team
Experience leading & coordinating an engineering team in the successful delivery of projects
Communicative, ability to liaise with clients, architects, and project managers
Inquisitive about emerging technologies and their application in your role
Your day-to-day activities:
Lead mechanical services design on projects from concept stage to completion
Specification and design of mechanical building services systems
Continuous design and installation quality checks and control
Provide fully detailed tender packages / tender reports / analysis / recommendations
Develop project scope with design team / client
Uphold the mechanical design standards within the organisation
Mentoring of engineering staff
